Samsung Digital Lockbox

This project aimed to enhance Samsung's Digital Wellbeing app by addressing the limitations of its existing app timers. User research revealed a need for more customizable and effective tools to manage screen time and achieve digital detox goals. My solution introduced "Lockbox," a feature offering advanced app control with timed restrictions and user authentication for enhanced digital detox.

The Lockbox feature locks the app after a time limit is reached, and forces the user to request a time-released passcode to bypass the lock feature. This allows users to set right lock timers and manage restricted apps how, when, and if they feel the need to set screen time boundaries. It's about creating a healthier, more mindful relationship with your devices, so you can use them in a way that truly serves you.

Samsung Digital Wellbeing

This project sought to revitalize Samsung Digital Wellbeing by redesigning its interface for improved user engagement and navigation. While Samsung hasn't prioritized any major UI updates in recent years, I wanted this redesign to modernize the app and align it with current design standards. Through competitive analysis and user research, I identified key areas for improvement, including data visualization, navigation, and overall user experience.

The proposed design offers a streamlined home screen, enhanced data visualization, and intuitive navigation to empower users in managing their digital habits effectively. Despite the effort invested in this project, it's important to acknowledge that without concrete data supporting the need for a redesign or a clear indication of Samsung's willingness to prioritize any major updates for an app of this nature, the design direction never became finalized.
